Katt Williams Arrested in Seattle, Retires from Stand up ComedyThe famous comedian Katt Williams has been involved in some less than humorous incidents lately. This past week saw Katt Williams arrested in Seattle for allegedly engaging in a bar fight with a family of patrons on Sunday.

It all began with Williams getting into a shouting match with several other patrons of the World Sports Grille in Seattle, WA. When the bar manager attempted to deescalate the situation, the 39-year-old comedian allegedly threatened him with a pool cue and refused to vacate the premises when told to do so.

Later on, when the family attempted to leave the bar, Williams followed them outside and continued with his alleged harassment; at one point flicking a cigarette through the car’s window and hit a woman in the face. After that, he proceeded to throw a rock at the family’s automobile.

Police arrived at the scene shortly thereafter whereupon Williams initially resisted arrest. He was ultimately taken into custody at King’s County jail on charges of harassment, assault and obstructing police. Early Monday morning, he was released.

This is not the only recent brush with the law in Williams’ history, however. Last week  in Sacramento, California, he took part in a low-speed chase with police as he rode his three-wheeled vehicle on a pedestrian-only thoroughfare. Luckily for Williams, he was not arrested during the incident.

Also in Sacramento, Williams allegedly slapped a Target employee in the face during the same week.

In Oakland, two weeks prior, Williams was accused of hitting an 18-year-old man over the head with a bottle.

The finality of the situation may have finally set in, when Katt announced his retirement from stand up comedy just this past Sunday. He was quoted as saying, “I’m just gonna go ahead and announce my retirement from standup, I’m kinda done,” he said.

Could this recent event be the continuing saga in the rash of celebrity breakdowns the media loves to cover so much? Or is it perhaps, just the result of a little too much partying and not enough self-control? Only time will tell, it seems.
