LASD Inmate Locator

The Monrovia Police Station jail is a type 1 facility, designed to hold inmates for a maximum of 72-hours. It’s open 24-hours a day, 365-days a year, so it’s possible to bail inmates out directly from this location. Since it’s only a type-1 facility, inmates who remain on-premises longer than 72-hours will be transferred to one of the larger jails in downtown Los Angeles. Male inmates are typically sent to Twin Towers Correctional Facility while females are sent to the Lynwood Jail.

These larger jails are much, much busier and if an inmate ends up being transferred there, he or she will likely spend an additional 12-24-hours in custody as they are “processed in” to the new facility. Beginning the bail bond process while the inmate is still at the Monrovia Jail, though, can often avoid the transfer and result in a sooner release of your friend or loved one.

The Bail Bond Process

We strive to ensure that the bail bond process isn’t any more complicated than it needs to be, and we break it down into 3 easy steps. The first is to call us and supply us with some information on the inmate, their name, birth date and date and time of arrest will help us locate him or her within the jail system and verify their eligibility for bail.

Then, we have you fill out a few short, simple bail bond application forms and the indemnitor’s agreement. Lastly, we provide you with a receipt and dispatch one of our agents to the jail. Your friend or loved one will be released a few hours later.

If you’re out of the area, or feel more comfortable working from your home or office, we can complete the process from start to finish via phone, fax or email. What works best for you will always work best for us.

What is an Indemnitor?

The indemnitor is the signer of the bail bond. You see, when a judge sets bail, he or she is basically stating that the court is willing to allow the defendant to be released from custody, pending their court appointment(s), if someone is willing to offer financial assurance that the defendant will indeed show up.

When you sign the bail bond, you’re agreeing to be held financially responsible if the inmate does not show up for court once released from custody. In cases like this, the signer of the bail bond will be required to pay the full amount of bail to the court, which can be many thousands of dollars. If the defendant does fulfill their court obligations, then the indemnitor is not responsible for any further payments.

As a rule, you should only bail out those whom you know and trust implicitly.

The Cost of a Bail Bond

In California, the cost of a bail bond is set at 10% of the total bail amount. So, if the total amount of bail is $15,000, then the cost of a bail bond will be $1,500. We accept a variety of payment options, including major debit/credit cards (Visa, Master Card, American Express and Discover) as well as cash, check, money orders, bank account transfer and money wire.

If the cost of a bail bond is too much to pay all at once, and you would like to finance your bond, let us know. We have a proud history of working with our clients on their payment arrangements and we provide all of our flexible payment options at 0% interest.
