The Santa Clarita Sheriff Department handles the law enforcement needs of all of the Santa Clarita Valley, including The Master’s College. Typically, there aren’t very many arrests that take place on campus, but if it does happen, arrestees are taken to the Santa Clarita Sheriff Station for booking and processing.
The Santa Clarita Sheriff Station can be a busy jail. Booking and processing can take from 2 to 4 hours or more, depending upon how busy they are and how well they are staffed. Once booking is complete and defendants are eligible for bail, a bond can be posted. If a bond is not posted quickly enough, they will be transfered to a larger facility such as Twin Towers or Lynwood (for women).
When transfer occurs, it can easily add at least 24 hours to the time a person spends in custody, as they will need to go through the processing procedure at the larger facility once again, and this usually takes a good deal of time.
As such, it is important to get the bail bond process begun as quickly as possible in order to minimize the chances of transfer, if not avoid it altogether.

The Bail Process
