When someone has been arrested in Pomona, their first stop is to the Pomona Police Station where they will undergo the process known as booking and processing. Odds are, you’re already familiar with this process and have seen it countless times on television and in movies. Booking and processing is the procedure in which an arrestee has their fingerprints recorded, photograph taken and comprehensive national background check is conducted. Once this has been completed, bail will be set and it will be possible to be released via bail bond.

If an inmate remains at the Pomona Station for more than 72 hours, or if the on-site jail begins to get crowded, he or she is likely to be transferred to one of the larger holding facilities in downtown Los Angeles. Men are sent to Twin Towers Correctional Facility while women are transferred to the Lynwood Jail. When transfer occurs, inmates can expect to spend an additional 12 to 24-hours going through processing at the much larger, much busier location.

If the bail bond application process has been begun while the inmate is still at the Pomona Station, however, it is often possible to avoid transfer and secure their release a good deal sooner.

Do I Have to Use a Bondsman?

When you want to get someone out of jail, you don not have to go through a bail bondsman; we are just one of several options at your disposal. It is possible to go to the jail and pay the full amount of bail, in cash, to the court clerk and secure the release of an inmate. If no cash is available, inmates can also be released by putting up property as collateral.

Why Use a Bail Bondsman?

Using a bail bondsman to get someone out of jail has two major up-sides. The first is that, when securing an inmate’s release via bail bond, the cost is only 10% of the total bail amount. The second is that you don’t have to go anywhere. When you work with us, all you need to do is give us a call and supply some general information about the defendant so we can locate him or her within the jail system and verify their eligibility for bail.

Once that’s been established, we will need you to fill out the bail bond application forms and indemnitor’s agreement. You don’t need to meet with us in order to do this, though, as we are more than happy to send you all of the relevant forms via fax or email.

Once those forms have been filled out, signed and returned to us, we will provide you with a receipt and dispatch one of our own agents to the jail. Your friend or loved one will then be released a few hours later.

A Few Hours?

It takes time to be “processed in” at the jail, and likewise it’s going to take some time to get someone “processed out.” Trust that we have the process down to a science and will have your friend or loved one out of custody as soon as humanly possible.
