The Monterey Park police station is staffed by 72 sworn officers and 46 civilian personnel. The on-site jail at the station is one of a few in Southern California that takes part in the “Pay to Stay” program for sentenced prisoners to serve time at the Monterey Park facility as opposed to one of the larger county jails.

Inmates who have not yet made their court appearance can be bailed out directly from the Monterey Park jail after they have undergone booking and processing. This is the procedure in which an arrestee has their fingerprints recorded, photograph taken and comprehensive background check conducted.

Once complete, bail will be set for those who are eligible. Inmates who are not bailed out from the Monterey Park jail after a few days are often transferred to one of the larger facilities in downtown Los Angeles.

Twin Towers is where male inmates are sent, while the Lynwood Jail is the women’s long-term holding facility. Being transferred often adds an additional 12-24 hours to an inmate’s time in custody, but beginning the bail bond application process quickly can sometimes avoid the transfer altogether.

What is the Bail Bond Process?

The bail bond process isn’t all that complicated, and it can be broken down into 3 steps. The first is to call us and provide the inmate’s full name, birth date and date and time of arrest. We will use this information to locate him or her within the jail system and verify their eligibility for bail. Second, fill out the short, simple bail bond application forms and sign the indemnitor’s agreement. The third and final step is where we dispatch an agent to the jail and secure the release of your friend or loved one.

The entire process really doesn’t take all that long, and thanks to modern technology, you don’t even have to meet with us to do it. We can send you all of the relevant forms via fax or email so you can complete them at your leisure from the comfort of your own home, or wherever you happen to be.

Indemnitor Responsibilities

As the indemnitor, or signer of the bail bond, you will be held responsible for paying the full amount of bail in the event that the defendant does not show up for their court obligations. When you work with us to bail someone out, you pay only 10% of the total bail amount as our fee for servicing the bail bond.

When the defendant fulfills their court obligations, you are not responsible for anything further. However, if they do not, you must pay the full bail amount of bail to the court. That being said, it’s always best to only bail out those whom you know and trust.

Paying for a Bail Bond

In California, the cost of a bail bond is set at 10% of the total bail amount. So, if the total amount of bail is $15,000, then the cost of a bail bond will be $1,500.

We include no additional “hidden” fees or charges in our bail bonds, nor do we charge interest if you choose to finance your bail bond. If you have additional questions regarding pricing or payment options, let us know. We’re more than happy to provide you with further explanation.

We accept major credit/debit cards including American Express, Visa, Master Card and Discover as well as cash, check, money order, bank account transfer and money wire.
