LAPD officers stationed at the Foothill Community Police Station are responsible for patrolling the areas of La Tuna Canyon, Pacoima, Lake View Terrace, Shadow Hills, Sun Valley, Sunland and Tujunga. When someone is arrested in any of these areas, they are transported immediately to the station where they will undergo booking and processing. This procedure includes having the arrestee’s photograph taken, fingerprints recorded and having a national background check conducted. Once complete, bail will be set and it will be possible to obtain their release via bail bond.

Most community police stations like this have small jails intended only for the short-term housing of inmates. If an inmate remains at the jail for longer than 72-hours, or it overcrowding becomes a problem, inmates will begin to be transferred to one of the larger jails in downtown Los Angeles. Men are typically sent to Twin Towers while women go to the Lynwood Jail. The entire transfer process takes upwards of 24 hours, during which time the inmate will be ineligible for bail. To ensure your friend or loved one gets out of jail as fast as possible, it’s usually best to begin the bail bond process while they are still located at the Foothill Community Police Station.

The Bail Bond Process

Bailing someone out of jail doesn’t take long, and it all begins by calling us. We will need some general information about the person whom you want to bail out of jail so that we can locate them within the system and verify their eligibility for bail. Then, we have you fill out the short, simple bail bond application forms and sign the indemnitor’s agreement. We will then provide you with a receipt and send someone to the jail to post the bond. Your friend or loved one will be released a little while after that.

We’re happy to meet with you at the jail, our office, your home (if possible) or we can easily handle the entire bail bond application process via phone, fax or email. Whatever works best for you works best for us.

What is an Indemnitor?

The indemnitor is the person who signs the bail bond. When someone is bailed out of jail, the person who signs the bond is going to be held financially responsible if the defendant does not show up for court. When this happens, a warrant will be issued for the defendant’s arrest and the indemnitor will be responsible for paying the full amount of bail to the court. When the defendant does fulfill their court obligations, no matter the outcome of the trial, the bail bond is exonerated.

The Cost of a Bail Bond

In California, the cost of a bail bond is set at 10% of the total bail amount. So, if the total amount of bail is $15,000, then the cost of a bail bond will be $1,500.

We accept a variety of payment options, including major debit/credit cards (Visa, Master Card, American Express and Discover) as well as cash, business or personal checks, money orders, bank account transfers and money wire.
