The 50,000-square-foot Harbor Station Jail, was built in 2009. It is located in the heart of San Pedro. The Station has its own helipad and watch commander’s office which monitors Los Angeles Harbor – one of the busiest ports on earth.
In case of emergency the Harbor Police Station is used as a nerve center for different agencies, including the Port Police, the government and the FBI. But its most impressive feature is its 16,000-square-foot jail, which holds up to 60 prisoners.
