When someone is arrested in Ventura County, their first stop will be either the local police station or the Ventura County Main Jail where they will undergo booking and processing. If they are taken to a local jail, the defendants are typically held there for up to 72 hours. If they are not bailed out within that time, they will be transferred to the Ventura County Jail where long-term holding facilities are available.

When transferred to the main jail, the process can take anywhere from 12 to 24 hours to complete depending on how busy the jail is. During this period, the defendant will be ineligible for bail. Once the transfer process is complete, it will once again be possible to secure their release via bail bond.

The Booking Process

The booking and processing procedure is one that many people are familiar with thanks to television and movies. During the procedure, the defendant will have their photograph taken, fingerprints recorded, and a comprehensive national background check will be conducted. Once completed, bail will be set for those who are eligible and it will then be possible to secure their release via bail bond.

The Bail Bond Process

To bail someone out of jail, give us a call and provide us with the name and birth date of the person you want to get out of jail. Once this has been established, we have you fill out our short, simple bail bond application forms and then dispatch one of our agents to the jail to post the bond. Your friend or loved one will then be released once they are processed out.
