A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held outside the new SCV Sheriff Station and Jail on Golden Valley Road. The new station will feature several upgrades over the existing one, including a larger Type I (as opposed to the existing Type II) jail facility, state-of-the-art technology, a full maintenance facility, and much more.

The current SCV Sheriff Station located on Valencia Blvd. was opened in 1972 with the intention of centralizing the Sheriff Station and court facilities. The new Golden Valley Road Jail SCV is intended to bring policing into the 21st century by incorporating the latest technology and facilities, making it easier for deputies to do their jobs.

The new Station and jail is not yet open, but is expected to be within the next month. The existing SCV Sheriff Station on Valencia Blvd. will continue to operate as the department makes its transition to the new facility.
