Lindsay Lohan was arrested yet again, this time in NYC, charged with felony hit and run. If reported officially by the NY authorities, Los Angeles prosecutors say that the recent hit-and-run could constitute a probation violation and result in more jail time and/or community service.

Lindsay Lohan, at 26 years old, is as famous for her acting as she is for her run-ins with the Los Angeles Police Department. This latest arrest comes only days after her twitter outburst detailing the inconsistencies of her treatment by the police as opposed to that of Amanda Bynes during her recent arrest.

Amanda Bynes, former Nickelodeon TV star is in the hot seat for a couple of hit-and-runs last August. In both hit-and-run cases, Amanda Bynes was let go after her initial citation. Lohan, on the other hand, has been arrested and taken to jail several times after her offenses.

After the story about Amanda Bynes being let go hit the internet, Lindsay Lohan hit Twitter with “Why did I get put in jail and a nickelodeon star has had NO punishment(s) so far?” her comment was quickly reinforced by her over 4 million followers.

Why, indeed? It’s a widely regarded that the criminal justice system seems to be far more lenient on celebrities than it is on the general population, but could it be that, even among celebrities there are some who recieve lighter punishment than others?

And to round out our celebrity arrest category, Shaun White, a two-time Gold Medalist in the Winter Olympics for snowboarding, was arrested in Tennessee recently. He was charged with vandalism and public intoxication for allegedly pulling a fire alarm in a hotel and destroying a public telephone.

According to witnesses, a man was assaulted by a drunken, incoherent White some time in between pulling the fire alarm and destroying the public telephone, though the bystander declined to press charges.
