Halloween in Santa Clarita Valley. Photo credit, Robin SandovalIt’s that time of year again where temperatures begin to drop, somewhat, and the leaves begin to change… sort of. That must mean that Halloween is almost here!

There are quite a few Halloween Celebrations in Santa Clarita 2013, that the whole family can enjoy.

There is, of course, the annual Fright Fest going on at Magic Mountain, a free haunted house at Tesoro Park from the 25th to the 29th.

Additionally, Lombardi Ranch has it’s Fall Festival going on through October 31st, and there are a host of other events that are sure to please.

As always, there are a number of safety tips provided by the SCV Sheriff’s Station to help keep you and your family safe from harm during this fun, spooky holiday. Some of the tips are pretty obvious, such as wearing costumes that can be easily seen by passing motorists and wearing masks with large enough eye holes to be able to see clearly.

Also, remember to go out trick-or-treating in groups as opposed to alone. The old saying, “there’s safety in numbers” holds true for this Holiday more so than others due to the fact that there will be a lot of kids going around at night.

It’s not only the kids and their families’ jobs to keep safe, however. For all the motorists out there, remember to drive carefully and be aware that there will be kids out on the streets who don’t always exercise extreme caution.

And for those of you going to parties where Halloween Rum or Bloody Mary’s may be served, make sure to establish a designated driver or be prepared to stay where you are for the night. This holiday is supposed to be about fun, and nothing ruins fun and lives more than injury, death or DUIs.

So from the SCV Bail Bonds family to you, have a safe and happy Halloween!
