David Cassidy Arrested in LAActor and former teen heart throb David Cassidy was arrested on Friday, January 10th near the LAX Airport under suspicion of driving under the influence.

Allegedly, Cassidy was driving down the road and an officer noticed him make an illegal right turn against a red light.

Upon being pulled over, the officer smelled alcohol in Cassidy’s rental car and made the arrest. On Saturday morning, Cassidy was released on $15,000 bail and is scheduled to appear in court on February 5th.

Cassidy is best known for his appearance on the television show “The Partridge Family” from 1970-1974, as well as his success as a singer and teen heart throb in the succeeding years.

If convicted of  DUI, Cassidy faces a possible revocation or suspension of his driver’s license, will receive fines, and will likely be obligated to perform community service and attend alcohol-abuse classes.

Most individuals charged with a DUI face similar penalties, provided it is their first-offense, no person was injured and no property was damaged. Those who are arrested for DUI or driving under the influence of drugs when someone is injured face much, much harsher penalties.

In fact, it is not uncommon to be charged with murder if someone is killed as a result of drunk-driving. Luckily, in Cassidy’s case, no one was injured or killed.
