Justin Bieber, it seems is in the news all the time. Whether it’s because he attended one of the star-studded media events, his taste in fashion, his music, or more recently, his troubles with the law.
The latter appears to be the case when the singer showed up at a Toronto police station and was arrested and charged with assault. The charge stems from an altercation in December, after a Toronto Maple Leafs game, in which a limo driver picked up 6 people at a night club and was en route to a hotel.
According to reports, an altercation broke out between the driver and someone in the car that resulted in the driver being hit several times in the back of the head. After that, the driver exited the vehicle and called police. The suspect was not in the car when police arrived.
Bieber was accompanied by his father, Jeremy Bieber and his manager Scooter Braun. His lawyer issued a statement on the case, stating, “The Toronto Police Service requested that Justin Bieber appear in Toronto today to face allegations of assault relating to an incident on December 29, 2013. We anticipate that this matter will be treated as a summary offense, the equivalent of a misdemeanor in the United States.”
The assault arrest is only the most recent in Justin’s hangups with the law. He is also under investigation in Los Angeles for allegedly egging his Calabasas neighbor’s home causing $20,000 worth of damage. The LAPD recently raided the star’s home and located drugs on the person of his friend, Lil’ Za, who was arrested on drug charges. Additionally, Bieber was recently stopped and arrested under suspicion of DUI in Florida.
