Infamous rap mogul Suge Knight is currently in police custody and charged with murder and attempted murder stemming from a hit-and-run that resulted in a death. After the hit-and-run incident, Knight was charged with attempted robbery stemming from an incident on September 5th, 2014 in which Knight and comedian Katt Williams allegedly tried to take a paparazzi’s camera. Now, Knight has also been charged with making a terroristic threat during the same incident. Both Knight and Williams are to appear in court February 19th to enter pleas.

In light of the new charges, Los Angeles city Prosecutor Keri Modder is going to request that the $500,000 bail set for Knight be forfeited and a new bail amount of $1 million be set in its place. The new bail amount may end up being a moot point, no matter what the cost ends up being, due to the fact that Knight is currently being held without bail in connection to the hit-and-run case.

The hit-and-run incident started outside a burger restaurant in Compton on January 29th. According to witnesses, Knight and another man were throwing punches at each other through the window of Knight’s truck, when Knight immediately threw the vehicle into reverse and knocked the man down. Allegedly, Knight then put the vehicle into drive and moved forward, running over the man on the ground and hitting another one.

According to Suge Knight’s attorney, “there is no basis for the threat charge.” Additionally, Knight’s lawyer claims that after reviewing security camera footage, there may have been a gun involved in the hit-and-run incident and Knight was possibly the victim of an ambush.

If convicted, Knight faces a possible sentence of 25-years to life under California’s “Three Strikes Law.”
