Hey everyone, St. Patrick’s Day is upon us again! And there’s quite a lot exciting events going on in and around the Santa Clarita Valley this year. Whether you’re looking for something family-friendly, or something more oriented to grown-ups, SCV residents won’t have to go far for either.

  • If you’d like to start your day off with a full stomach, Dink’s New York Diner on Valencia Blvd. will  be serving corned beef, cabbage and red potatoes from 11 a.m. to close. The price for the meal is $14, and they’ll also be serving green beer for 99 cents.
  • Since St. Patrick’s Day is on a Tuesday, many of you will likely have to work. In light of this fact, Egg Plantation in Newhall will be opening at 4 p.m. and providing live Irish music from 5:00 to 10:30 pm. If you guessed that they’d be serving a traditional Irish meal, then you guessed right. The menu on the 17th will include corned beef and cabbage, fish and chips, soda bread, Irish stew, and a selection of desserts. There’s no cover charge, but you might want to show up a little early to make sure you get a seat!
  • If your plan is to get out of town, the annual St. Patrick’s Day Festival in West Hollywood will take place from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. at The Factory in West Hollywood. There will be live music, dancing, and plenty of drinking. Tickets for the event start at $35 for general admission and $65 for VIP admission.

These are just a few of the events in the SCV and in Los Angeles that will be held this holiday.

Remember that wherever you go, make sure to get yourself a safe ride home. Even if you don’t plan to drink, or celebrate the holiday at all, remember to keep an extra vigilant eye out if you’re going to be driving. There’s always a spike in DUI-related collisions and arrests around St. Patrick’s Day, and you don’t want to get caught up in either of them.

Designated Drivers of Santa Clarita will get you and your car home for just $20 bucks! Talk to Mark and Samantha Elsebusch and they will get you and your car safely and respectfully home anywhere within the Santa Clarita Valley. Available from 7pm to 3am. Call (661) 313-8336.

Santa Clarita Valley Safe Rides offers free ride home (for teenagers only) who are not in a condition to drive, or if they do not want to ride with an unsafe driver. (This is a confidential service) . Phone: 661-259-6330 Hours: 10:00p.m.-2:00a.m. www.scvsaferides.com
