What is a Bail Bond?

When someone wants to be released from jail via a bail bondsman, a bail bond is required in order to provide the court with financial incentive to allow a defendant their freedom, ensuring that he or she will appear before the court at the appointed date.

If you are planning to sign for someone’s bail bond, you become their “Indemnitor” and it is an absolute must to understand all of your financial obligations before signing for a bail bond.

If a person fails to meet their obligation of attending court on the appointed date, a payment must be made in the amount of the offender’s full  bail amount, and the indemnitor, along with the bail agency is responsible for paying the full amount to the court. However, most missed court dates are generally not missed on purpose and can be easily taken care of with one phone call to the bail agency.

We are always happy to explain the details of the bond and walk you through the process step-by-step.
